An Adults Tale

I had registered myself in some dating services which I found to be reliable and trustworthy. However, it was rather unfortunate as I never received any contacts of a girl to whom I can date with. Since then I started feeling that these dating services are of no use and they only know to make big claims which they are never able to fulfill. I also made up my mind of never using any such dating services in future which first gives hopes to people and then break them mercilessly. Frankly, I was very sad with the fact that I never got a girl to date with and needed someone who can shower all her love on me.

When I was studying at university, I knew a girl by the name Amanda who was very beautiful, intelligent and of course smart enough to judge what is going on in one's mind. I always liked her soft nature and wanted to date her but she was always surrounded by good looking guys who also wanted to have a date with her. Since I do not consider myself as handsome and do not have the charm which can attract a girl, I never dared to go ahead and talk to her.

It was summer in Texas but the weather seemed to be pleasant and I decided to meet a very old friend of mine who was working as a bank branch manager and I happened to see him there when I last visited the bank. As it was Sunday and I had nothing to do, I called him up and we decided to meet at his place. I was meeting Glenn after 6 years and never thought of seeing him again but I thank my boss who sent me to the bank for some official work and there I met him.

It was 12 noon and I was at his place. He hugged me and said that he has a surprise for me. I was wondering what could be his surprise and was amazed to see Amanda there. Glenn introduced me to Amanda and said that she is his wife. I was little sad hearing this but soon felt that I should be happy for my friend as he got such a lovely wife who is caring, beautiful and most importantly she gives priority to relationships more than anything else. We both sat there on the couch while Amanda got busy preparing lunch for us. Glenn started telling me that Amanda was his first love and they met each other with the help of a dating service. They had a blind date which was arranged by the dating service called "Tripstar dating services". They met few more times and then fell in love with each other and decided to marry. Soon Amanda joined us and said that she had seen me somewhere but doesn't quite recollect where she saw me. I told her that this world is such a small place and we might have bumped each other before. I was there till evening and then I bid good bye to them and also promised to meet them soon.
